Course Description:
This Spanish class is intended to get students excited about
learning languages and get students speaking Spanish. They will learn about the Spanish language
and culture through a variety of activities, discussions, projects, and the
textbook.

Because we are using a class set of textbooks, you will not
have one to bring home. I will provide
flashcards, vocabulary lists, and handouts with information that you will be
able to bring home. There are also several online resources available.
Grading:
Your grade is based on the percentage of total points you
earn each quarter. These points come from daily work, tests, quizzes, and projects. Performance assessments will be weighted more heavily than practice activities, in accordance with the Edgewood grading policy. The grading scale is
as follows:
A = 93-100%

B- = 80-82%
|
D+ = 67-69%
|
A- = 90-92%
|
C+ = 77-79%
|
D = 63-66%
|
B+ = 87-89%
|
C = 73-76%
|
D- = 60-62%
|
B = 83-86%
|
C- = 70-72%
|
F = 59% and below

Homework:
You will have homework during the week. Homework is due at
the beginning of the hour the next day (unless otherwise specified).
Assignments are generally worth 10 points. All assignments will be
accepted, reviewed and given credit. Late assignments will be accepted,
reviewed, and given credit based on accuracy and completion.
Tests/Quizzes:
There will be occasional tests and quizzes. I will let you know well in advance, so you
will have adequate time to study. Some
chapters may also include a project. If
you receive a C- or below on any quiz or test you may retake it. It is the same test/quiz and I give the
student their new score. The goal is for
the student to show me that they have learned the material.
Absences:
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out
what was missed. You have two days to
turn in work or make up a test/quiz missed due to an excused absence.
Grade Updates:
Your grades will be updated regularly. I will have the online planner updated every
Friday with all work that I have received.
Passes:
Please come to class on time, and I will allow you to go to the hallway to do what you need to do--water, bathroom, etc.

Show your Eagle Pride and E.D.G.E values.
